Your Top Questions Answered
What’s the difference between sweet corn and field corn?
Sweet corn is for people and field corn is for animals! Field corn is taller and stays on the stalks longer to dry out in the field before it is harvested and turned into cow, pig and chicken feed. It also turns into ethanol to power cars and trucks — did you know that? Sweet corn fuels-up people like you and me.
When can I get Chism Farms sweet corn?
We’ll keep you updated on social media and here, on our website. But, depending on the weather for planting and picking — we hope to have corn as early as late June and into August.
How do you grow it?
We’re glad you asked! Take a look below… we prep the land to be ready for seeds. We plant the seeds and wait patiently for those successful little sprouts to show. Then we harvest the mature sweet corn for your family to enjoy!
